Moins d’une semaine après la victoire de Barack Obama (et du camps démocrate) à l’élection présidentielle américaine, le chanteur Will.I.Am (fondateur du groupe Black Eyed Peas) sort un clip pour célébrer ce “jour nouveau”. Dans un style proche de celui qu’il a pratiqué dans ses précédents titres, “It’s New Day” n’est certes pas la chanson du siècle, mais reste toutefois largement au dessus de ce que certaines radios françaises ont l’affront de nous passer.

Le clip est un hommage à tous les noirs et les blancs qui se sont battus pour qu’un jour, un noir puisse parvenir à la fonction présidentielle aux États-Unis, mettant ainsi fin à une ségrégation rampante.
